Whether it's high or low, I want to know what they thought. If they loved it, why? If they hated it, why? I learn from both.

I also find it interesting that someone would take the time to leave a one-star rating and NOT put why. Those do make me wonder about spamming, etc. It seems if you took the time to make sure someone knew you disliked their work, you'd want to say why.

Then there's the subjectivity of the star system. I had a 3-star review that was more glowing than some of my 5-star ones. Some people are really stingy with 5s and others give them away.

Thanks again for giving me something to think about this Sunday evening.Tia Bachhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18336780518125138789noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6622029434153478101.post-52034125012311454922012-11-06T04:01:20.190-08:002012-11-06T04:01:20.190-08:00lol... The ones to competely ignore are the ones not signed or posted as anonymous and the star rating posted with no reasons stated for liking or disliking a story or novel. Generally I've found the anonymous postings are just trolls or persons with a grudge or (in one case)a person who had delusions of being a "Grand Critic" and eventually asked me if she could "doctor" my story and share the byline and profits. She didn't know me very well evidently, because, after my two word response, she never was to be on my horizon again. (I must confess there was a second part to my two word response that consisted of "and the horse you rode in on.")AJ Hayeshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02765836513403665199noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6622029434153478101.post-22004509401603957052012-11-05T13:25:13.237-08:002012-11-05T13:25:13.237-08:00I agree, see if there's anything you can learn...I agree, see if there's anything you can learn then move on.
Just had my first 1* rating....no comments just a rating. Odd really, as I've never sold a copy of that book to North America, never mind Canada.
Maybe she read the free sample, saw something she didn't like & went for the jugular!
I decided at the outset NEVER to comment on a review.....that way madness lies!Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02953023163686312120noreply@blogger.com
